MUTE Concert Division

The MUTE Concert Division researches, schedules, and coordinates all dance, music, theatre, and family entertainment for the Festival.

Division Coordinator

The chairperson oversees the work of the Dance, Music, Theater, and Family Entertainment committees to make sure that timelines are being followed, publicity is submitted to the Publicity Committee in a timely manner, to make arrangements for any equipment or personnel needs that involve more than one committee, and to carefully supervise the scheduling of all performances to make sure there are no location, time, or noise conflicts. Also, the chair oversees stage, sound, light and security needs for the main stage and other stages where more than one performing media is providing entertainment, and helps with set-up and take down as needed. The chair also oversees the distribution of W-9 reporting forms and the contracts made with performers and sees that they are submitted for legal review. The chair attends board meetings to make progress reports, acts as the liaison between committee chairs, helps contact volunteers, secures bids for needed permanent equipment and, should a committee chair become vacant, fills in until a replacement can be found

Award

The chairperson works with Beverly Hilton Hotel, other groups and booking agencies to secure all entertainment and workshops for the Festival. For out of town performers, the chair makes travel and motel arrangements. The chair also oversees any stage, sound and lighting needs as well as helping with set-up and dismantling of theater areas. The chair MC's shows if needed .

Family Entertainment

Committee chair plans performance entertainment. Chair contacts performers see that entertainment is publicized when secure, makes arrangements for payment to entertainers and makes arrangements for stages, sound equipment, etc. The chair makes travel and motel arrangements when needed

Dance Co-Chair

The chairperson researches locate and books all the dance performances for the Festival, including the main performance, local daytime performers and dance workshops. The chair makes travel and motel accommodations for out of town performers. The chair oversees arrangements for stage, sound, lights publicity and refreshments for the dance performances. Finally, the chair oversees set up and dismantling of dance areas and acts as MC for the shows, if needed.
